This is my first custom quilt for Holly. I found that this was really fun and stretched me creatively. The liberated quilt piecing allowed for the different stitches. I think the stitches show up when the pictures are enlarged. Lovely quilt!

Design Wall Monday

I made three more Civil War Diary Quilt Blocks. I have a 100 piece block to do this week. I am sure it will be great! I have 20 blocks left to do. I am so close to finishing it.

I have been quilting and you can see two quilts I finished here.

I am going to complain about the snow on Palm Sunday. My son had his driving test in it, and he passed, I am so thrilled for him. Off to the Secretary of State this week for his license! OK I am done complaining now. Now to scrape my car's windows and get to work. Have a great Monday all!!

Two More

Allison's Dear Jane is a masterpiece, I took a pic on my couch. It will look lovely in her living room. Stitched with a floral design.

The is Alice's quilt for a much anticipated baby for a family member. I love the little monkeys, so I stitched curls that reminded me of monkey's tails and leaves that are big like banana leaves!

Ladies, these are gorgeous!

Quilts in March!

This quilt was pieced by ladies in my church a few years ago. It was never finished and I wanted to finish it. It was made by many women who had never pieced a block before. The back is pieced. The fabrics were donated and it was intended for charity. Close up of the pieced back highlights the vine stitching. I love it. It is going to a shelter that our church conference sponsors. I think it will find a good home and provide warmth to a family.

This is a quilt our customer made. Dolores hand stitching is so divine! This has a echoing flower stitch with a few butterflies scattered amongst the flowers. The last picture is of the back.

Marcia's Quilts For 2011!

This quilt uses "friendship triangles" that were exchanged at the quilt shop last summer. The pattern is by "Laundry Basket Quilts" and it is lovely. Look at that batik border.

This little quilt is made with a holiday layer cake. It is so adorable and can be left out most of the year!

This quilt is the "man quilt." Marcia's husband picked out the fabrics and hoped for a quilt especially for him!

This is a wild and random assortment of blocks. The quilting was a fun opportunity to use an "anything goes" quilting on it. This is my quilt and I am very happy with the results.

I have learned a echoing flower for my queen sized quilt. New colors for spring!

And for the traditional star quilt of mine, I continue chose Wonky feather.
